In short yes they are! We recommend our quality low sheen surface for worktops; this provides all the stunning design attributes coupled with a robust surface that is highly resistant to scratches. We can produce the worktops in the amazing super gloss finish that delivers the ultimate wow factor that we also use for our splashbacks. However, we do advise that the super gloss like all other glossy surfaces is more susceptible to micro-scratches when looked at in certain light, so if this option is chosen then we advise more careful use and the use of mats and chopping boards etc to protect the beautiful surface.

We only use the highest quality epoxy resins for our worktops and splashbacks which make them suitable for normal kitchen use, our splashbacks will withstand the heat of your hob, however like most styles of worktops the resin companies still advise not to put hot pans or other high heat items directly onto the surface without the usual protection.

Yes, epoxy resin has anti-bacterial properties meaning that it is safe to eat or prepare food on, making it an ideal surface to use within the kitchen area. As we pour the worktops in one go to create one seamless surface, there is no joins, cracks or grout lines to harbor any germs.

Yes absolutely, one of the many great properties of epoxy resin - aside from the versatile design, adhesion and filling attributes - is its ability to seal and form a waterproof (anti corrosive) layer of protection that makes it stand out above most other materials for these purposes.

90% of our bespoke worktop installations are completed over customers' existing worktops. The other 10% are only because they are new kitchen installations where we create the whole worktop from scratch. It is very rare to see a worktop that isn't in the condition that it can be used as a base to work from. Once it is primed, we are then able to complete the stunning unique epoxy resin design followed by the delicate pouring of the low sheen or super gloss coat finish.

The biggest benefit is colour choices are unlimited, with the ability to design and colour co-ordinate them with your home's decor. We encourage you to work with the designer to influence the colours, style and impact of design. Whilst stone worktops offer several design effects, our epoxy designer can make similar effects to stone but can control the amount, or size, of the natural characteristics such as veins. However, epoxy resin designs really stand out when using the combination of multiple colours and mastered techniques to create stunning effects, with the ability to add enhancements (e.g. sparkles, shimmer and metallic highlights such as gold, silver and copper). Other benefits include the ability to create the worktop design in any customer's home meaning we can create one seamless worktop with no joins whatsoever, and epoxy resin worktops are lighter weight, and can be fitted in smaller areas where large stone worktops perhaps can't due to logistical restrictions.

It all depends on the size of the project and what is involved, whether templating is required first, just a bespoke worktop or splashback, or both. Splashback installations: as a guide we aim to turn these around within 1 week. Usually we need to visit to template the areas first to cut out holes for sockets and to ensure a perfect fit, this would then be taken back to the workshop to create the unique design and clear coated. This process usually takes around 3 days and we aim to install within 2 days of completion. Worktop installations: these are usually created within 3 days, comprising of various stages such as the priming, design and finish coat. Low sheen finish has a super quick drying time however you would need to add another couple of days for curing time on a super gloss finish surface before use.

Ideally it's best if removed first, however, yes we can install our bespoke splashbacks over your existing tiles, they may need cleaning or priming first but this is fine. The only thing to bear in mind is that you may see the tiles behind the new splashback at the edges if they aren't hidden by the flank walls, wall units or extractor for instance. We can generally remove the tiles first for you if you preferred for a small extra charge.
